Friends Of The Garden

On Tuesday mornings the Friends (volunteers) are seen throughout the garden cutting off spent blooms, planning new projects, maintaining watering systems, pruning, planting, fertilizing and many other tasks related to the care of the roses. On the third Monday of each month a working bee is held to tackle a particular area in need of attention.

There is also the morning ‘cuppa and chat’ time when it’s a great time to catch up with others, and the latest news related to gardening events.

During the warmer months there are social outings to a variety of gardens where we can relax and learn from other gardeners. Social and educational events are also held in the Rose Garden Wing, constructed in 2010 with the support of Latrobe City Council, the Victorian Government and the community primarily for our use.

Becoming a ‘Friend of the Garden’ is an enjoyable way of learning about growing roses with the knowledge of experienced rose growers being passed on to new volunteers. If interested in becoming a Friend email: info@morwellrosegarden.com.au or telephone Latrobe City Council on 1300 376 700.
